MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison Police have located the missing 74-year-old man who was missing since Wednesday afternoon.
Madison Police Sgt. Jamar Gary says Stephen Nelsen was located in the 3300 block of Nakoma Rd. by members the Madison Police Mounted Unit.
Gary says Nelsen did not appear to have any serious injuries. Nelsen was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police continue their search for a 74-year-old man who has been missing since Wednesday afternoon.
According to the City of Madison Police Department, a citizen believes she saw Steve Nelson near Tokay Boulevard around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. He also lives near the Arboretum.
Nelson has no cell phone, money, or food. There is genuine concern for his welfare.

Steve Nelsen walked away from his home in the 3600 block of Nakoma Road. Nelsen suffers from dementia and is a former UW Madison professor.
According to release by the Madison Police South District, a K9 Unit tracked Nelsen to the intersection of Monroe and Regent Streets, but lost track of him after that. They believe he may have been walking toward campus.

Nelsen is 6'0'' tall with white hair.
He was last seen wearing a red long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
