MADISON (WKOW) -- One person sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident on University Ave. Monday afternoon.

It happened around 3:30 p.m.

Police at the scene said a black, Honda SUV was traveling east on University when it was "clipped" by a silver Honda Civic that was traveling westbound and attempting to turn left at the intersection with Blackhawk Ave.

Police said one person involved in the crash was transported to the hospital with a "minor" injury.

The eastbound lanes of University were closed from Midvale Blvd. to Blackhawk Ave. for roughly 15 minutes, until 3:50 p.m.

One lane of University Ave., near the intersection with Blackhawk Ave., remained closed until after 4:00 p.m. as officers cleaned up the scene and the two vehicles involved were towed.

The driver of the Civic will likely receive a citation for failing to yield, police said.
