Rock River free from slow-no-wake restrictions

Posted: Updated:

ROCK COUNTY (WKOW) – The Rock River is free from slow-no-wake speed restrictions.

According to a news release from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, two locations on the river had restrictions – on Lake Koshkonong and in Afton. However, county ordinance allows the restrictions to be dropped when water levels reach or go below 8 feet on Lake Koshkonong and 6.5 feet in Afton for the part of the river extending from the lake to Beloit Rock Town Line Road bridge. The sheriff’s office reports that the US Geological Survey Gauges in those areas show the water levels are at 7.92 feet and 6.42 feet, respectively.

The sheriff’s office says slow-no-wake signs will be removed as soon as possible
