West Allis man dead after getting hit by train

WISCONSIN DELLS (WKOW) – A 21-year-old West Allis man is dead after he was struck by a train Sunday morning near the Wisconsin Dells Depot.

According to the Wisconsin Dells Police Department, officials responded to report of a train hitting a pedestrian near the Wisconsin Dells Depot off of Lacrosse Street at 4:51 a.m.

Officers found the man lying on the platform. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses say that there were no other people near him or on the platform when the train approached. Also, the train sounded its horn, but the man did not respond to the warning.

The incident remains under investigation, but foul play is not suspected.
