2 arrested after gun pulled at a Madison tavern

MADISON (WKOW) -- Two people were arrested after a gun was pulled at Red Shed Tavern.

Madison police say a 35-year-old Madison woman reported to officers that another woman pointed a gun at her inside the tavern.  Officers found the 28-year-old suspect, Laconda Williams from Madison on Frances St.  Williams started fighting officers and was arrested.  A handgun was recovered.

Afterwards, an acquaintance of Williams, 24-year-old Asia Townsend, came and attacked the victim.  Officers intervened and arrested Townsend.

A large and hostile crowd began to envelop the officers that were out in the Frances St. area.  Officers from other districts to assist with crowd management and dissipation.

Williams and Townsend were conveyed to the Dane County Jail.
