Lambeau Leap statue unveiled

GREEN BAY (WKOW) -- The Green Bay Packers unveiled a tribute to one of the team's iconic traditions just in time for Saturday's family night crowd to see.

Packers President Mark Murphy and former Packers Safety LeRoy Butler showed off the Lambeau Leap statue.

Butler pioneered the tradition in 1993 and says it's a celebration that stands above what other teams have.

"The Packers have something that they don't have. The connection with the fans. The fans actually own the team, so it's only fitting that they own the Lambeau Leap," said Butler.

The bronze statue features a space for fans to pose as a Packers player leaping into the stands.
