Badger coaching staff provides stability in fall camp

MADISON, WI (WKOW) -- Three days into fall camp, the Badger football team continues to break in their relatively inexperienced roster. Wisconsin has just nine full-time starters returning from last year.

But the transition to different roles will be made easier by stability in the coaching ranks. For the first time in several years, the majority of the coaching staff stayed put.

Head coach Gary Andersen only had to replace one position, bringing in Thomas Brown as the new running backs coach.

The former Georgia tailback jumped at the chance to tutor one of the nation's most talented backfields.

"It's a huge opportunity and truly a blessing," said Brown. "I look forward to continuing to coach these guys, be a part of this great tradition of guys who have come through here, but also be around some of the best in the country. I think we've got the two best tailbacks in the country, and I've said that time and time again. But like I said, they're very humble individuals; they don't operate that way like they're super stars. They come up like blue collar guys and show up and work hard every single day."
