BLUE MOUNDS (WKOW) -- An adult male and a juvenile male were taken into custody after a disturbance involving a knife Friday.

According to a news release from the Blue Mounds Police Department, officers were sent to the 3000 block of Mounds View Road in the Village of Blue Mounds for a domestic disturbance involving a person with a knife at about 5:24 p.m. Information was given that a person was being held at knifepoint and that the victim was being told not to give more information to the 9-11 dispatcher.

When police arrived, they found a suspect who was resisting and failing to obey lawful orders. Mount Horeb Police arrived, and both officers were able to take the suspect, a 12-year-old male, into custody.

At 5:47 p.m., a Dane County Sheriff’s Office Deputy and two Mount Horeb Police officers found another person, an adult male, who said he was armed with a knife. Officials ordered the second suspect to the ground at gunpoint because of the original call and the statement that he had a knife. After he was handcuffed, the suspect tried to flee from officers and injured himself while running. He was treated at the scene by emergency medical services. Multiple knives were also removed from a residence as evidence.

The 12-year-old male was taken to Dane County Juvenile Reception and held on charges of recklessly endangering safety, disorderly conduct while armed and resisting arrest. The adult male was arrested for resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. He was taken to Dane County Jail.
