WAUPUN (WKOW) – One person is dead and another injured after a vehicle crash Saturday morning in Dodge County on State Trunk Highway 26.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, a silver Chevrolet Impala was traveling south on State Trunk Highway 26 less than a mile north of State Trunk Highway 151 when it crossed over into the northbound lane of traffic, striking a silver Pontiac head on at about 9:17 a.m.
Both drivers were extricated from their vehicles. The driver of the Pontiac, a 16-year-old woman from Capron, Ill., was taken by MedFlight to UW Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet, a 58-year-old Waupun man, was taken by ambulance to Waupun Memorial Hospital. He was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. The investigation is ongoing.
The names of the male driver is being withheld pending notification of family; the name of the female driver will not be released because she is a juvenile. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
