Ribbon cut on Madison rehab center for developmental disabilities

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- The ribbon was cut Tuesday on a new rehabilitation center in Madison.

Madison Area Rehabilitation Centers, or MARC, opened the doors on its new building on Buttonwood Court.

It serves adults with developmental disabilities in Dane County, through employment activities, pre-vocational training, and getting them involved in the community.

Already the center is drawing attention from people around the state.

MARC Executive Director Russell King says, "They're trying to replicate this level of care in other places. It really has set the standard and we hope it continues to do so."

The center also offers a beautiful space for participants, incorporating a lot of natural light and outdoor gardens.

MARC serves nearly 300 adults in five locations and at more than 100 community-based job sites.
