Mourning dove season to begin September 1

 MADISON (AP) -- Wisconsin wildlife officials are reminding hunters that the state's new extended mourning dove season will begin next week.

Hunters will be allowed to hunt them from September 1st through November 29th.  This period is 20 days longer than previous seasons. 

September 1 also marks the opener for early teal and early goose hunting season.  Early teal season goes through September 7.  Early goose season goes through September 15.
