Hearts for Healing for Waukesha stabbing victim

MADISON (WKOW) -- A fundraiser was held today in Madison for a Waukesha girl who was stabbed 19 times and left for dead.

An organization called Healing for Healing teamed up with Metcalfe's Market in Madison for the event titled "Feed Your Heart Mini Brat Fest" at Metcalfe's West.

A family spokesperson says the girl's family is grateful for all the support they have received.

"The one thing they would like me to say to the world is 'thank you'. And they're so moved by this. They're so moved by the generosity, you know they've had a horrific time, but that's behind them. We're about 3 months away from that and on Tuesday this little girl is going to be in school, and so we're really proud of her," said Spokesperson Steve Lyons.

WKOW Meteroligists Ben Burkel and Bob Lindmeier served as celebrity servers.
