Woman fends off would-be purse snatchers

 MADISON (WKOW) -- A 40-year-old Madison woman was able to fend off a pair of would-be robbers when she assumed a boxers stance.

Police say two men approached the woman on the 1100 block of Williamson Street early Sunday morning.

One tried grabbing her purse but was unable to take it as she pulled away and went into a defensive posture,

Police say words were also exchanged and the men ran off.

The suspects are described as a white male in his early 20's, standing 5'7'', 150 pounds, with light brown of blonde shaggy hair, and was wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt.

The other suspect is described as a black male in his 30's, standing 5'10'', 200 pounds, and was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt.
