Madison, Wis. – In light of the sudden and tragic passing of Bob Suter on Tuesday, the Madison Capitols have announced that their first preseason game, originally scheduled for Friday, September 12 at 7 p.m. at Capitol Ice Arena, has been canceled.

The team moved their scheduled scrimmage from Tuesday to Wednesday at Capitol Ice Arena.

The Madison community lost not just one of its hockey heroes, but a true ambassador for the game at the youth level.

Suter helped facilitate the return of the USHL this coming season.

"Bob's vibrancy, attitude, just his overall demeanor was just so conducive to people, said head coach Luke Strand. "We're just thankful he shared that with us as much as he did. As a hockey community and all of us involved in the game that had the blessing to to be touched by Bob. It's something we have to cherish.... He will be missed sorely."
