McEvoy looking to build off last performance

Posted: Updated:

With a bye week on tap, Tanner McEvoy plans to kick back and watch some college football this weekend. The Badgers quarterback has already watched plenty of video from this past week's win over Western Illinois. On the whole, McEvoy says he was encouraged by what he saw.

"I mean I played better than I did the first weekend. That was my goal, to get better each week. I learned a lot from the first week to the second week. After watching film, we did what we had to do. We answered some questions, but we still have some to answer. So, I'm looking forward for the following game."

McEvoy was certainly much better than his woeful performance in the opener. The junior completed 23-of-28 passes for 283 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. Western Illinois was stacking the box daring the Badgers to throw. McEvoy hopes he proved enough to force future defenses to respect Wisconsin's passing game.

"It's tougher to stop when you can pass it and run it as well as we can. So, it's going to be a tough offense to stop, I think. I'm excited to see what happens."

The Badgers will return to action on Sept. 20th against Bowling Green at Camp Randall Stadium.
