Badgers ready to rush Bowling Green pass attack

Posted: Updated:
MADISON, Wis. (WKOW) -- The Badgers are preparing for a unique challenge this week in Bowling Green. The Falcons will roll into Camp Randall Stadium with one of the better passing attacks in the country.

So Wisconsin will try to derail the passing game by applying pressure on the quarterback. The Badgers already have five sacks over their first two games.

The coaching staff is hoping some of their young linemen will emerge as pass rush threats. Redshirt freshmen Chikwe Obasih and Alec James are two of the top candidates. Obasih has half a sack. James is still looking for his first sack."

I talk to him a lot both on and off the field," said James of Obasih. "And when we're watching film, I'll ask him questions, and he'll ask me questions. We're like a tandem, I guess. He does good, or I do good, but either way, as long as one of us gets to the quarterback, that's all that matters."

"We worked hard all last year," said Obasih. "We didn't get to be on the field at all, got a whole year off, so we definitely committed to the weight room. We both got a lot stronger and our numbers went up. So, our technique got a lot better in the spring."

Wisconsin and Bowling Green kick off Saturday at Camp Randall at 11:00 a.m.
