GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Safety Morgan Burnett has missed a second day of practice with a calf injury that has Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy growing more concerned.

The Packers play the New Orleans Saints and quarterback Drew Brees on Sunday night. Green Bay is already missing starting cornerback Sam Shields, who sat out Thursday's practice with a knee injury.

McCarthy said he's eager to see if Burnett can go when the Packers return to practice.

Overall, the play in the secondary has improved from last season. The Packers have quality depth at defensive back, while rookie Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and converted cornerback Micah Hyde have stabilized the safety position opposite Burnett.

Clinton-Dix and Hyde would likely be the pairing at safety if Burnett is unavailable.
