Maryland next to try to stop Wisconsin's Gordon

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (AP) -

Maryland's reward for rallying from 14 points down to beat Iowa is a date with the nation's top rusher on his home turf.

The Terrapins' inaugural tour through the Big Ten stops at Camp Randall Stadium on Saturday, when Wisconsin (4-2, 1-1 Big Ten) will unleash rested tailback Melvin Gordon on a defense allowing 198.3 yards rushing per game.

Gordon presents the Terrapins (5-2, 2-1) their biggest test on the ground yet. Gordon is averaging more than 174 yards per game to lead the nation.

The Badgers' running game could get an extra boost this weekend with the expected return of fullback and top blocker Derek Watt.
