Oregon High School principal faces 3 drunk driving arrests this month

OREGON (WKOW) --The principal of a local high school is put on administrative leave after being arrested for drunk driving three times this month.

The Wisconsin State Journal reports police confirm Kelly Meyers was arrested twice in Fitchburg and once in Oregon. The newspaper reports she has been on medical leave from Oregon High School since the beginning of the school year, but has now been placed on administrative leave while the Oregon School District investigates.

The Oregon School District sent a letter to parents Monday. Superintendent Brian Busler told the Wisconsin State Journal, “Once the information is all made available, we're going to conduct our internal investigation. Our goal in a situation like this is to get it complete as soon as we can.”

The newspaper reports Meyers was hired as principal in 2012. She was previously the principal of Verona Area High School from 1994 to 2008.

The district tells the newspaper the interim principal will stay in that position through the end of the school year.
