GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Securing the NFC North title and first-round bye earned the Green Bay Packers a few days off from coach Mike McCarthy. They're on their own to celebrate the new year before returning to practice Friday.

Some players may be taking it a little easier during the mini-break, notably limping quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

McCarthy said there was a rehab plan in place this week for Rodgers, who threw two touchdown passes in a 30-20 win Sunday over Detroit in spite of being slowed by a strained left calf.

But the coach said his franchise quarterback feels good otherwise after undergoing some tests Monday.

The Packers go into playoffs with their running game and defense also playing well. They don't play until Jan. 11, when they would host a divisional round game.
