MADISON (AP) -

Wisconsin guard Josh Gasser is on the verge of a team milestone.

The fifth-year senior should make the 127th start of his career when the fifth-ranked Badgers host Northwestern on Saturday. Gasser will pass Alando Tucker for the Wisconsin record.

Gasser's workmanlike style can get lost amid the team's offensive firepower. Seven-footer Frank Kaminsky is building a resume for a player-of-the-year candidacy, while athletic forwards Sam Dekker and Nigel Hayes are matchup nightmares in the frontcourt.

But teammates appreciate Gasser's hard-nosed play. Gasser sets the tone by diving for loose balls, drawing charges and regularly taking on the toughest defensive assignment.

Gasser also hasn't missed a start since sitting out the 2012-13 season with a left knee injury.
