Jackson thankful for another shot at Kentucky

INDIANAPOLIS (WKOW) -- Traevon Jackson and the Badgers get another shot at Kentucky. Another shot, after Jackson's shot at the buzzer of last season's national semifinal game against the Wildcats rattled out, resulting in a 74-73 loss. After a season long battle coming back from a fractured foot, Jackson and his Wisconsin team gets another chance to overcome last season's heartbreak.

"The biggest thing I think I would have changed when I did the move and went up for the shot I remember getting his as I'd gone up," Jackson said.

"Right away I said in my mind that's off, I'm missing it and it hit the backboard and kind of spinned a little bit and I was like oh it has a chance. I truly believe I missed that shot because I believed I'd miss that shot, it doesn't matter if I got hit, it doesn't matter what happens, if I can just control what I need to do and just focus, that is the only thing I need to change."

Jackson, a very spiritual guy, said he didn't believe it was a coincidence that he and the Badgers get another chance to face Kentucky. He's said he's thankful for this chance to overcome last season's loss. The Badgers tip off against the Wildcats Saturday 7:49 pm CT.
