Former Badger Mike Kelley to broadcast Wisconsin game

Posted: Updated:

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (WKOW) -- Back in 2000 Mike Kelley was at the Final Four in Indianapolis as a player on Wisconsin's men's basketball team, now in 2015 he's back as a member of the Wisconsin broadcast team. Kelley will join Wayne Larivee and Phil Dawson as part of the Badgers "team-cast" broadcast group on TruTV. Kelley is a member of the University of Wisconsin Athletics Hall of Fame and was a key member of the 2000 team, which as an 8-seed in the NCAA Tournament, made a "Cinderella" run to the Final Four.

"When we were here as you said we kind of crashed the party a little bit and Coach [DIck] Bennett was all about building a foundation. When he stepped aside and moved on and Bo [Ryan] came in you've just kind of seen Bo take it from there and run with it.  Now the difference is they've got pros on this team. They're doing the same things they're just doing it with better players and now you see the success," Kelley said.

The Badgers tip off against Kentucky at 7:49 pm CT tonight.
