MADISON (AP) -

Corey Clement had such a good spring practice at Wisconsin that new coach Paul Chryst thought he didn't need carries at the spring game.

There will be enough of those to go around in the fall. Clement is replacing Melvin Gordon as the Badgers' top tailback.

Chryst has been consulting Clement on how to best implement his pro-style offense. He said Clement finished spring on a high note, playing well during contact drills.

Clement rushed for 949 yards and nine touchdowns last year as a sophomore. He said will be focusing on aerobic exercises over the summer as he prepares for the heavier workload come fall.

The Badgers also hope to get center Dan Voltz and guard Ray Ball back from injuries that set them back in the spring.
