VERONA, Wisconsin (WKOW) -- Edgewood came in with a chip on their shoulder and came out with a trophy.

In this years' Morgan Stanley Shoot-out, the winners of day one were also winners on day two. The Crusaders held a strong 12-stroke lead after the first round of golf on Wednesday and finished with a 13-stroke lead over Middleton to win their first team title in six years. Ben Gilles and Rory Gierhart of Edgewood finished in a three-way tie with Middleton's Joey Levin for second place in the individual standings.

Max Murphy of Waunakee stretched out his day one two-stoke lead to a six-stroke lead at the conclusion of Thursday's play to win the individual title. The senior, who tied for second last year, credited his experience under pressure to helping him finish it off this time around. Waunakee came in third overall.
