The University of Wisconsin women's basketball team will have Michala Johnson for one more season. The star center was granted a medical hardship waiver by the NCAA which will allow her to have one more season of eligibility.

"I am so excited to be able to come back next year and put on a Badger jersey. It's been a long process but I'm thankful to know that I can come back and play at the Kohl Center again."

Johnson started six games this past season before tearing her ACL. She was averaging 12.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Head coach Bobbie Kelsey was excited to learn Johnson would have a sixth season of eligibility.

"This is a wonderful day for Wisconsin women's basketball. Knowing that Michala will have the opportunity to finish her career in the classroom as a graduate student and on the court is truly special."
