Madison College makes sixth straight World Series appearance

The Madison College baseball team is headed to the NJCAA Division II World Series for the sixth straight year. The WolfPack will face UCONN-Avery Point on Saturday at 4 p.m. in Enid, Oklahoma.

Madison College enters the tournament with a 23-game winning streak. Mike Davenport's crew is 42-10. The Madison College head coach says his experienced group appears to be peaking at the right time.

"I think maybe the first year of this run we may have been a little satisfied with just getting there, and we went 2-and-barbeque. Other than that, our guys have kind of walked in the door prepared to battle for a championship."

The WolfPack have finished third in the country the past two seasons. Second baseman Sam Hurt says this group is on a mission to claim Madison College's first national championship since 1997.

"We feel like we can play with anybody at this moment. We went through sectionals and regionals pretty easily. We faced some good teams but we have a lot of confidence in our guys."
