Madison man could get life sentence on heroin charges

A Madison man could spend the rest of his life in prison on heroin charges. A federal court jury convicted 37-year-old Melvin Thomas on three charges of dealing heroin Friday. Authorities say Thomas brought the drug into the Madison area from Chicago, intending to sell it. He's facing 10 years to life in prison. Sentencing is set for July.
