WAUKESHA (WKOW) -- A Waukesha County judge says he won't decide whether Anissa Weier and Morgan Geyser should remain in adult court or be transferred to juvenile court until August.
Waukesha County Circuit Judge Michael Bohren heard testimony Tuesday and Wednesday in the case against Anissa Weier. Bohren said he wants to wait to make a decision until a similar hearing is heard in July for Geyser. Bohren said he will make his decision public on August 10.
The two girls are accused of stabbing a classmate 19 times last May to gain favor with the fictional character Slender Man.
Both girls are in adult court now. If found guilty in adult court, they could be sentenced to a maximum 65 years in prison. The maximum amount of time they could be held in children's court is three years in detention and another two years of extended supervision.
