Four join Madison Sports Hall of Fame

MADISON (WKOW) -

 Four former local athletic standouts joined the Madison Sports Hall of Fame on Wednesday. The enshrinement came as part of the 53rd annual Madison Sports Hall of Fame banquet at Monona Terrace.

Tim Healy starred at Madison East in the 1960's. He was a baseball, basketball and football standout.

Barry Richter helped lead the University of Wisconsin hockey team to the 1990 NCAA Championship before embarking upon a professional career that took him to the NHL and overseas. He joins his father, Pat, in the Madison Sports Hall of Fame.

Pete Waite coached volleyball at the collegiate level for 25 years. He became the Badgers head coach in 1999 and led Wisconsin to nine straight NCAA Tournaments in his 14 seasons.

Jackie Zoch rowed for the Badgers before joining the U.S. National Team. She raced to a bronze medal in the 1976 Olympics.
