MADISON (WKOW) -- The DeForest softball team earned the school's first ever victory in the state softball tournament, beating Germantown 5-4 in 10 innings on Friday. Making their first appearance in the tournament, the Norkies scored the winning run on a sacrifice fly from Sarah Stewart, scoring Lydia Schuchardt in the top of the 10th. DeForest was originally supposed to play on Thursday, but weather postponed the quarterfinal matchup until Friday. The Norskies move on to the semifinals, where they will play Watertown in Verona at 9:30 am.
