 OREGON, Wisconsin (WKOW)--

Trading blow for blow, Oregon soccer prevailed over Badger Conference rival DeForest to advance to the sectional championship game.

Scoreless after one half, the Panthers finally broke through in the 57th minute with a right-footed hook from Madelyn Peach.

In the 62nd, DeForest took another hard hit when Oregon was awarded with a penalty kick. Senior Kelsey Jahn put it in the lower right corner to help the Panthers take a 2-nil lead.

With not many attempts in the first half, the Norskies started firing away in the second. Two minutes after Jahn's goal, Maggie Funk volleyed it past Panther goalie Abby Breitbach to bring the score to 2-1.

In the 70th minute, DeForest found their equalizer with Kaitlynne Roling. The two teams would be held at the 2-2 tie until the 85th, when Makena Fanning found the net off a solid cross by Holly Kaboord.

Oregon advances to the state tournament with the 3-2 win.
