MADISON (WKOW) -- It's being called the fastest growing travel option for families.  This year, an estimated 20 million Americans will be cruising in their RVs.

RV experts Brad and Amy Herzog were guests on Wake Up Wisconsin on  Sunday morning while traveling through the Madison area on their RV vacation.  The Herzogs have started a 6-week, 11-state tour traveling the Badlands to the Black Hills to the Bonneville Salt Flats to Mount Rushmore to the Windy City.  This isn't their first trip though.  In fact, their two young sons have seen 48 of the 50 states over the last decade during summer vacations.

Brad and Amy say they enjoy RV travel because they say it combines the romance of the open road with the convenience and comfort.  Also, it has proved to be a cost saver for them.  They noted studies that have shown, family RV travel saves money on hotels, restaurants and rental cars.
