GREEN LAKE COUNTY (WKOW) --- The Green Lake Area Animal shelter Tuesday is starting to look at the over 100 applications that have flooded in after news of the 42 dogs rescued from a rural home.
As 27 News first reported July 15 on this story, deputies found the dogs on July 8 after an anonymous tip complaining of dogs in filthy living conditions.
Shelter staff tell 27 News that 8 of the dogs are ready to be adopted, but will not be adopted out until as early as this weekend. Staff have been busy caring for and treating the dogs that the application process is now beginning for them. The rest of them will continue to be spayed or neutered and then will also become available.
With over 100 applications, the shelter is now asking for help to cover costs for their vet bills. You can visit them online here or send your donations to
