Two dead in Juneau County house fire

LYNDON TOWNSHIP (WKOW) -- Shortly before 10:00 Friday morning, the Juneau County Sheriff's Office was called to a house fire. 

The caller told authorities one person was out of the residence, but two people were still inside.  Multiple departments were called to assist: Lyndon Station, Mauston, Lake Delton, Kilbourn, Baraboo, New Lisbon, and Volk Field Fire Departments.  Also called were Lyndon Station First Responders and Mauston Area Ambulance. 

When the fire was put out, the bodies of two people were located and pronounced dead by the Juneau County Coroner.  Their names are being withheld pending positive verification.

The fire remains under investigation by the Lyndon Station Fire Department, State Fire Marshal, Juneau County Sheriff's Office, and the Juneau County Coroner's Office.

The American Red Cross is meeting with the family to assess their immediate needs.
