Second sex offender removed from Dodge Co. home

BROWNSVILLE (WKOW) -- A second sex offender has been taken out of a Dodge county home and returned to the Sand Ridge secure treatment center for sex offenders.

Dodge County Sheriff's officials say Circuit Court Judge Brian Pfitzinger issued an order Tuesday afternoon that Jonathan Miller be moved out of a home in Brownsville, based on the sheriff's office previously learning young children were living next door to the house.

Today's ruling follows a similar one last month in which convicted sex offender Robert Larson was removed from the same residence at W2691 STH 49 in Brownsville.

Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says his office did not know the men were going to be placed at the home till plans for the move were finalized, and his officers didn't discover there were children next door till after they were notified of the placement plan. Sheriff Schmidt believes these decisions are best for the safety and well-being of the children and the two men who were removed.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services will try to find a more suitable home for the men.
