MADISON (WKOW) -- In six days the Badger volleyball team opens up its season at the UW Fieldhouse. Saturday Wisconsin held a dress rehearsal of sorts in front 1,194 fans. The Badgers split into a red and white team, with the red team winning the match two games to one.

"We had more fans tonight than maybe a couple matches we had a couple years ago so that was great. We had five or six kids that have never played in front of a crowd that big and it gets a whole lot bigger here next weekend so it's a chance to settle the nerves a little bit," Badgers head coach Kelly Sheffield said.

"I think we all meshed pretty well. I think we all came out ready to go. I can only see better things for this team. It keeps going up everyday, everyday in practice and even from yesterday to the scrimmage we got better every time so it's really cool," Badgers outside hitter Lauryn Gillis said.

The Badgers face Western Kentucky August 28th at the UW Fieldhouse.
