Packers lineman's suspension upheld

Posted: Updated:

Packers defensive lineman Letroy Guion will miss the first three games of the season. The NFL officially announced his suspension Thursday afternoon.

"Letroy Guion of the Green Bay Packers has been suspended without pay for the first three games of the 2015 regular season for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. Guion will be eligible to return to the Packers’ active roster on Tuesday, September 29 following the team’s September 28 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Guion is eligible to participate in all preseason practices and games."

Guion was arrested in February for possession of marijuana and a firearm in Florida. He reached a plea deal in the case. The Packers signed Guion to a one-year contract shortly after the legal case was resolved.
