GREEN BAY (WKOW) -

The Packers made their mandatory cuts to reduce the roster to 75 players. Seven guys were handed pink slips including former UW-Whitewater star Matt Blanchard.

Blanchard performed well in his limited opportunities in the preseason. He complete 8-of-11 passes for 87 yards, one touchdown and one interception on Saturday against Philadelphia. However, Blanchard had little chance of making the team after the Packers drafted Brett Hundley. A strong preseason performance from Hundley sealed Blanchard's fate.

The Packers also placed Jordy Nelson on injured reserve. That officially ends his season. The team also designated receivers Javess Blue and Jimmie Hunt as waived/injured.

The other players released were receiver James Butler, linebacker Adrian Hubbard, defensive back Kyle Sebetic and tight end Harold Spears.
