Packers sign former Badger Abbrederis to practice squad

Posted: Updated:

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin (WKOW) -- Injuries have defined Jared Abbrederis's career in the NFL and ultimately almost ended his stay in Green Bay.

But the former Badger is getting another chance on the Packers practice squad.

On Saturday, Abbrederis was cut from Green Bay's 53 man roster, but he wasn't claimed on waivers. He was signed to their practice squad on Sunday.

Abbrederis suffered a torn ACL last year and a concussion in the second practice of preseason this year.
He was cleared in time to play in the Packs preseason finale with the Saints, making three short punt returns and one catch for six yards.

Also signed to the Packs practice squad, offensive lineman Matt Rotheram, linebacker James Vaughters, offensive lineman Jeremy Vujnovich, linebacker Carl Bradford, and tight end Justin Perillo.

Tight end Mitchell Henry was picked up on waivers by Denver and defensive tackle Khyri Thornton is heading to New England.
