MADISON (WKOW) -- Badgers running back Corey Clement sat out of Tuesday's practice as he continues to nurse his groin injury. Clement was held out of the Miami (OH) game and was limited with only eight carries against Alabama due to his groin issue. The Badgers host Troy this Saturday and then Hawaii before the Big Ten season begins. Chances are the Badgers won't need their starting running back before they face Iowa on October 3. Clement did tell the media Tuesday that he'd be open to sitting out until the Iowa game if it meant he'd be closer to full strength.

"I want to put myself in the best position to be healthy and who knows it may be this week or it may be big ten opener. Hopefully I'm just 100-percent to whatever game I go in to, Clement said.

Clement was replaced by Dare Ogunbowale in the starting lineup, who is approaching this week like Clement will be out again.

"Me and Taiwan [Deal] knew Corey was going to be out last week and we think he's going to be out again this week so we're just going to approach the week the same way. {racticing hard and competing with each other, competing with the defense and Saturday will take care of itself," Ogunbowale said.
