OccuPaws celebrates 10th Anniversary

Posted: Updated:

MADISON (WKOW) -- Since 2005 OccuPaws Guide Dog Association has raised, trained, and placed Guide Dogs with the blind and visually impaired of Wisconsin.

A big celebration, “Paws UP! for 10 Years” will be held Sunday, Sept. 20, from 11am to 3pm at Wisconsin Brewing Co. in Verona.

This free event, open to the public, will recognize Wisconsin’s working Guide Dog teams and also thank the many volunteers who make it possible to provide these valuable Guide Dogs free of charge to the blind.

Families and their well-mannered pets can participate in doggie contests and kids’ activities, while everyone will enjoy the three participating bands– Evan Riley Band, Reloaded, and The Red Hot Horn Dawgs – from 11 am to 3 pm. Veterinarians, doggie businesses, non-profit groups and commercial vendors will have booths. There will be a Silent Auction, and food and beverages will be available.

Drawing for a dog-themed quilt created by OccuPaws client Susan Gasal will be held at 2:30 pm.
