Badgers avoiding turnovers

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -

The Badgers football team has shown some improved balance on the offensive side of the ball this season. The Badgers have also proved to be very protective of the football. Wisconsin has only turned it over two times this season. There are only 10 teams in the country that have turned it over less.

Joel Stave has done a better job of protecting the football. The senior has thrown at least 10 interceptions each of the past two seasons. However, Stave has only thrown two picks this year.

"You never want to turn the ball over. You always want to make good reads and good decisions and find the open guy. Interceptions are a part of the game. They're going to happen but, as much as you can minimize them, that's always the goal. So, I think we've done a good job keeping the ball, not turning it over this year, and I think that's going to continue to be a focus for us as the year goes on."
