APPLETON (WKOW) -- Some Wisconsin dairy farmers are helping raise money for a good cause. Dairy Cares raised more than $140,000 this year for Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.
For Bill and Kelly Shaumberg, the birth of their fourth child proved to be a difficult one. They say their daughter was born at 24 weeks and they had to spend about 100 days at Children's Hospital NICU. Due to the research being done through the funding, the couple now have a healthy baby girl.
Michael Meyer is a Pediatric Critical Care Specialist at the Children's Hospital. He says he thinks between 100 and 150 families benefit in the Fox Valley area.
For the past 5 years, Dairy Cares has raised more than $500,000.
