Meuer, Badgers top Boilermakers in annual "PAC the MAC"

MADISON, Wis. (UW Women's Soccer) – After scoring her fourth goal of the season Friday night, McKenna Meuer joked that she was by no means a “big-time” goal scorer.

With the game-winning goal against Purdue on Sunday, she now leads her team in scoring.

Behind Meuer’s team-leading fifth goal of the season, the Wisconsin women’s soccer team shut out the Boilermakers at home in a 1-0 final at the McClimon Soccer Complex on Sunday.

Goalkeeper Caitlyn Clem had five saves and made a number of key stops down the stretch that helped the Badgers (5-4-3, 2-1-1 Big Ten) hold on for their third-straight shutout and second-consecutive Big Ten win.

It marked the third-straight shutout for Clem and the fourth of her career.

Wisconsin concludes a three-game homestand on Friday, Oct. 2, by welcoming border rival and current Big Ten leader No. 18 Minnesota to Madison for a game at 6 p.m. CT.
