MADISON (WKOW) -- Pruning large tree branches isn't an easy task, but it can be done well if you know what you're doing.
You can do it easily with the three-cut method. Make your first cut about one foot away from the trunk. Cut from the bottom moving upward about a third of the way through the branch. The second cut should be downward from the top of the branch, several inches beyond the first cut. The third cut is made flush with the branch bark collar.
