Badgers add Decorah to basketball roster

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -

For two seasons, Will Decorah did whatever Bo Ryan asked of him as a student manager. Ryan has rewarded that dedication by adding Decorah to the 2015-16 roster as a walk-on.

Decorah was a two-sport star at Waunakee High School. He was a two-time All-Conference selection in basketball. He averaged 16 points per game his senior season. Decorah won two state championships on the gridiron as a quarterback and defensive end. He broke the school single-season passing record with 2,166 yards in his senior season.

Decorah's family has a long legacy of playing college hoops in the state. Will's sister, Emily, played at UW-Milwaukee from 2011-14. Their father, Tim, played for Bo Ryan at UW-Platteville. He was a member of the Pioneers' first national championship team in 1991.

Decorah will begin practicing with the Badgers immediately.
