MADISON (WKOW) -- Alex Erickson's status for Wisconsin's game at Nebraska remains up in the air. Erickson suffered a concussion against Iowa after getting slammed on his head during a tackle in the third quarter. Tuesday Erickson only participated in cardiovascular exercises at practice as he continues to go through the team's concussion protocol. Erickson is working towards getting back on the field, but maintaining his health is his top priority.

"I don't know the percentage [or odds of playing against Nebraska] but I just have to make sure the symptoms don't come back and make sure my head feels good going into the game. You don't want to take another hit when you're not 100 percent," Erickson said.

"The quicker he can get back, the better for us," Wisconsin quarterback Joel Stave said.

"I think everyone understands how important he is to the offense. If we can have him back for this week that'd be great."
