Waunakee girls tennis earns berth to State

MADISON, Wisconsin (WKOW) -- With four first-place finishes and three second-place finishes, the Waunakee girls tennis team qualified for state as a team for the first time in program history.  

Senior Laura Kamm took first in the singles flight 2, defeating Ingrid Goldstrand of Madison Memorial. In singles flight 3, sophomore Amanda Schuster beat Baraboo's Alexa Lindsay. In doubles flight 2, CoCo Collins and Kailey Ziegler took first place, while Autumn Facktor and Katie Legastkz won in double flight 3. 

Meg Mathison and Lexi Cords took second in singles flight 1 and flight 4, respectively, while Bailey Chorney and Bobbi Stricker placed second in doubles flight 1. 

As a team, the Warriors collected 50 points. Second-place in team points is Middleton, who are 17 points behind the Warriors.
