MADISON (WKOW) -- For the second year in a row, Middleton's Loren Skibba won a state girls golf championship. Skibba (+5 overall) came up three shots short of defending her individual title in Division I, but was a key part in Middleton's team title. The Cardinals entered Tuesday four shots behind Arrowhead, but was able to win the DI title by one-stroke at +65.
The DI individual title went to Beaver Dam's Ashley Kulka, who shot +2 for the tournament, three strokes better than second place Skibba.
In Division II, it looked like four-time defending champion Madison Edgewood had no chance of extending their championship streak entering Tuesday. The Crusaders trailed the Prairie School by 16 strokes after Monday's round. The Crusaders made a furious comeback, but ended up finishing runner-up (+141), just four shots behind the Prairie School.
Edgewood was led by Katie Arneson who finished in fourth, shooting +19. Ivy Fedewa of Wisconsin Dells finished sixth at +23. The D2 individual title went to Stanley Wang of St. Thomas More, who shot +12 overall.
